Polynucleotides at Celestial Cosmetic Clinic

Polynucleotides are an advanced regenerative treatment designed to improve skin quality by supporting your skin’s natural repair and regeneration processes. Unlike traditional fillers, which add volume, they work by improving the condition of the skin itself — encouraging tissue repair, boosting hydration, supporting collagen production and helping restore healthier, stronger-looking skin over time. It’s a good option if your skin feels tired or dull, you’re concerned about fine lines or crepey texture, or you want to improve the appearance of the under-eye area.

Your appointment begins with a detailed consultation, discussing your concerns, goals and medical history, before a personalised treatment plan is created based on your individual needs. Treatment typically takes 30–45 minutes depending on the area treated. Some redness, swelling or small bumps can occur afterwards and are completely normal — full aftercare advice will be provided at your appointment.

Polynucleotide Treatment FAQs

Who is polynucleotide treatment most suitable for?

This treatment can help a wide range of people, depending on what your skin’s going through. It’s often a great fit if your skin looks tired or dull, even when you’re not – that flat, lacklustre look that concealer can’t quite fix. It’s also worth considering if fine lines have started to bother you, since polynucleotides work on skin quality in a way that can soften their appearance over time.

If you’ve noticed crepey texture – that thin, slightly crinkled look that often shows up under the eyes, on the neck, or on the hands — this treatment is designed to address that by improving the skin’s structure from within. Reduced elasticity is another common reason people come in; if your skin doesn’t bounce back like it used to, this treatment supports its own repair processes to help rebuild some of that resilience.

The under-eye area is one of the most popular places to treat, since it’s often the first to show signs of tiredness or a hollow, crepey look – and it’s an area where subtle improvement makes a real visible difference. More broadly, if you want rejuvenation that feels natural rather than dramatic, and better overall skin quality rather than added volume or changed facial structure, polynucleotides are very likely to be a good option. The best way to know for sure is through a proper consultation, where we can look at your specific concerns together.

The benefits of polynucleotides go beyond a quick surface fix – this treatment genuinely improves the health and quality of your skin, not just how it looks on the day. One of the biggest benefits is an overall improvement in skin quality: skin often looks and feels healthier and more resilient as the treatment supports your body’s own repair and regeneration processes.

Hydration is another major benefit – polynucleotides help draw moisture into the skin and support its ability to retain that hydration long-term, rather than offering a temporary plumping effect. This ties into improved skin texture, with many clients finding their skin feels smoother and more even than before treatment.

Increased elasticity is particularly valuable for anyone whose skin has started feeling less firm or bouncy, as polynucleotides support collagen production – what gives skin its structure and springiness. As this improves, many clients also notice a brighter complexion, since healthier, better-hydrated skin naturally reflects light more evenly.

Improved skin firmness is another key benefit, particularly for areas like the under-eye, neck or hands. Alongside this, many clients see a genuine reduction in the appearance of fine lines, as the improved skin quality helps soften these over time rather than simply masking them.

Perhaps the most important benefit overall is that all of this happens through natural-looking rejuvenation. You won’t look “done” or different – just like a healthier, more refreshed version of yourself, with results that build gradually and look completely natural throughout.

Yes. As a Registered Nurse, patient safety is at the heart of everything I do – every treatment follows a thorough consultation and medical assessment to check it’s right for you. Polynucleotides have a well-established safety profile when carried out properly, and I’ll always talk you through exactly what to expect beforehand.

Most clients can return to their normal activities straight away. Some redness, swelling or small bumps can appear at the injection sites and are completely normal – these usually settle within a few days.

Most clients find treatment very manageable. A numbing cream can be applied beforehand to help with comfort, especially in more sensitive areas like under the eyes.

This depends entirely on your individual skin and what you’re hoping to achieve, so it’s something we’ll talk through properly at your consultation rather than a one-size-fits-all answer.

Results build up gradually rather than appearing overnight, as the treatment works with your skin’s own natural repair processes over time.

Yes. Polynucleotides are all about improving the quality of your skin, not changing your facial appearance – so you’ll simply look like a healthier, more refreshed version of yourself.

Before Your Appointment

Take a few minutes to look through this before your appointment, so everything goes smoothly and you get the most out of your treatment.

  • There’s no need to come without makeup — your appointment begins with a proper cleanse of the area, so arriving with makeup on is completely fine.
  • Please tell me beforehand if anything’s changed with your health, medications or medical history since booking.
  • Try to keep hydrated in the days running up to your appointment — good hydration helps your skin respond well and supports recovery afterwards.
  • Where you can, avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment, as it can increase the chance of bruising.
  • If you’re on blood-thinning medication or supplements — things like aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils or certain herbal supplements — try to hold off beforehand unless they’ve been prescribed, in which case carry on taking them as your doctor’s advised.
  • If you’ve got an event or occasion coming up, book your appointment with plenty of time either side, as some redness, swelling or small bumps are a normal part of the healing process.
  • Got a cold sore, an active skin infection, aren’t feeling your best, or have had another treatment recently? Let me know before your appointment so I can advise on the right next step.
  • Polynucleotides aren’t suitable if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you’re unsure whether this treatment’s right for you, book a consultation first – we’ll go through everything together and build a plan that suits you.

Above all, my goal is for you to leave your appointment feeling well-informed, comfortable and confident in the treatment you’ve had.

Aftercare Advice

Aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself, so please take a moment to read through this before you head off.

  • Try not to touch, rub or press on the treated area for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and excessive heat for 24–48 hours.
  • Skip alcohol for 24 hours, as it can increase the likelihood of bruising and swelling.
  • Leave makeup off the treated area for at least 12 hours, unless I’ve advised otherwise.
  • Keep drinking plenty of water and stay well hydrated afterwards — this supports your skin’s overall health and encourages the best possible results.
  • Some redness, swelling or small bumps at the injection sites are completely normal after this treatment and usually settle within a few days.
  • Sleeping slightly elevated for the first night can help reduce any swelling.
  • Leave at least two weeks before further facial treatments, massage, or applying pressure to the area, unless I’ve told you otherwise.
  • Keep the area clean and follow any specific aftercare advice given at your appointment.
  • Results build gradually as your skin’s natural regeneration process takes place, so it’s worth being patient — the full effect typically develops over the following weeks rather than appearing straightaway.
  • If anything worries you following treatment, get in touch right away — your safety and comfort always come first.

More than anything, I want you to feel supported, well-informed and properly looked after at every stage of your treatment.
