Microneedling at Celestial Cosmetic Clinic

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that works by stimulating your skin’s own natural healing response. Using tiny sterile needles, controlled micro-injuries are created within the skin, which encourage collagen and elastin production – helping improve overall skin quality and support a smoother, healthier complexion over time. It’s a good option if you have uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, acne scarring, or you simply want to improve your skin’s overall quality.

Treatment begins with a consultation and skin assessment, before the skin is prepared and microneedling is carried out using professional equipment.

Microneedling Treatment FAQs

Who is microneedling suitable for?

This treatment works well for a wide range of skin concerns, so it’s worth considering if you have uneven texture, enlarged pores, or acne scarring you’d like to soften. It’s also a great option if fine lines are starting to bother you, your skin looks a little dull, or you simply want to improve your overall skin quality. Because it works by triggering your skin’s own natural healing response, it suits people looking for genuine, natural rejuvenation rather than a quick surface fix.

Microneedling offers a real range of benefits because it works from within the skin rather than just on the surface. Clients often notice improved texture and tone, a brighter complexion, and smoother-looking skin as collagen and elastin production increases. Over time, this can also mean a reduction in the appearance of pores and continued improvement in overall skin quality, since the treatment encourages your skin to keep repairing and rejuvenating itself naturally.

Some redness may appear following treatment, but this usually settles within a few days, and most clients are comfortable getting back to their normal routine straightaway.

This depends on your individual skin concerns and what you’re hoping to achieve, so it’s something we’ll discuss properly at your consultation rather than a fixed number for everyone.

Yes, in many cases it can. This is something we can talk through at your consultation, where we’ll look at what would work best alongside microneedling for your specific goals.

Most clients find microneedling very manageable. A numbing cream can be applied beforehand to help keep things comfortable, especially for more sensitive areas.

Before Your Appointment

Take a few minutes to look through this before your appointment, so everything goes smoothly and you get the most out of your treatment.

  • There’s no need to come without makeup – your appointment begins with a proper cleanse of the area, so arriving with makeup on is completely fine.
  • Please tell me beforehand if anything’s changed with your health, medications or medical history since booking.
  • Try to keep hydrated in the days running up to your appointment – good hydration helps your skin respond well and supports recovery afterwards.
  • Where you can, avoid using retinol, exfoliating acids or other active skincare products for a few days beforehand, as these can make your skin more sensitive during treatment.
  • If you’re on blood-thinning medication or supplements – things like aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils or certain herbal supplements – try to hold off beforehand unless they’ve been prescribed, in which case carry on taking them as your doctor’s advised.
  • If you’ve got an event or occasion coming up, book your appointment with plenty of time either side, as some redness is a normal part of the healing process and can take a day or two to settle.
  • Got a cold sore, an active skin infection, aren’t feeling your best, or have had another treatment recently? Let me know before your appointment so I can advise on the right next step.
  • Microneedling isn’t suitable if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you’re unsure whether this treatment’s right for you, book a consultation first – we’ll go through everything together and build a plan that suits you.

Above all, my goal is for you to leave your appointment feeling well-informed, comfortable and confident in the treatment you’ve had.

Aftercare Advice

Aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself, so please take a moment to read through this before you head off.

  • Try not to touch, rub or apply makeup to the treated area for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and excessive heat for 24–48 hours.
  • Skip alcohol for 24 hours, as it can increase redness and sensitivity.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and always wear SPF on the treated area, as your skin will be more sensitive to sunlight for a few days afterwards.
  • Keep drinking plenty of water and stay well hydrated afterwards — this supports your skin’s overall health and encourages the best possible results.
  • Some redness, tightness or mild warmth is completely normal after this treatment and usually settles within a day or two, similar to mild sunburn.
  • Avoid using retinol, exfoliating acids or other active skincare products for a few days following treatment, until your skin has fully settled.
  • Leave at least a week before further facial treatments or additional actives, unless I’ve told you otherwise.
  • Keep the area clean and follow any specific aftercare advice given at your appointment.
  • Results build gradually as your skin’s natural collagen production increases, so it’s worth being patient — the full effect typically develops over the following weeks rather than appearing straightaway.
  • If anything worries you following treatment, get in touch right away — your safety and comfort always come first.

More than anything, I want you to feel supported, well-informed and properly looked after at every stage of your treatment.
